The other is decoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clarity is the difference between &#8220;Write a blog post&#8221; and &#8220;Write a 600-word blog post for freelance designers, focusing on time management without tools, using a conversational tone, structured as three 200-word sections with subheadings.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t confuse clarity with verbosity. A clear prompt isn&#8217;t necessarily long. It&#8217;s just precise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Mechanics_of_Clear_Prompts\"><\/span>The Mechanics of Clear Prompts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Every clear prompt has four components:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Intent.<\/strong> What are you trying to achieve? &#8220;Draft an email&#8221; is not intent. &#8220;Draft a 150-word email declining a meeting request without offending the sender&#8221; is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Context.<\/strong> What does the model need to know? Who&#8217;s involved? What&#8217;s the situation? What constraints exist? Context reduces the need for the model to guess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Constraints.<\/strong> Length, format, tone, structure. Without constraints, the model defaults to its training data\u2014which is mostly mediocre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Output.<\/strong> What does success look like? Describe the finished product. Three options? Five bullet points? A table?
